Venue Information - Gravedona, Lake of Como (Italy)

The congress will take place at "Palazzo Gallio" a XVII century palace, located in the center of the small village of Gravedona

Gravedona is a "comune" (municipality) in the Province of Como, located about 80 km north of Milan and about 40 km northeast of Como.

Airports

The nearest airports are Milano Malpensa and Lugano Agno. Other airports in the area of Milan include Milano Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio.

We plan to organize a transportation from/to the principal airports (Milano Malpensa and Milano Linate + Milano Central Train station) on the arrival day (6 June, at 2.30 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.) and departure day (11 June, after lunch, to be at the airports at approx. 4 p.m.).
We may not organize a transfer from/to Orio Al Serio airport, however connection to Milano train station is quite frequent (the trips takes approx. 45 minutes). Therefore, we recommend you plan your flight in order to be at the airport (or at Milano train station) quite on time for the bus transfer.

If you arrive or depart on a different date, please consider the following connections from/for the Milano airports:

From Milano Malpensa (MXP) :
- BY CAR: take the A9 Laghi motorway in direction of Como-Chiasso. Exit at Como Nord and take the road Statale Regina (SS340) in direction of Menaggio. Continue till Gravedona. The whole journey is about 110 kilometres and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- BY TRAIN: The Malpensa Express (www.malpensaexpress.it) runs between the Terminal 1 of Milan Malpensa and the train station of Saronno, where you must take a train to Como (Como Lago station) (time schedule www.lenord.it). In Como, just in front of the station, you find the bus stop (bus direction Menaggio-Colico, line number C10, get off at the last bus stop of Gravedona, about 50 meters from Palazzo Gallio) (time schedule www.sptlinea.it). As an alternative you can take the hydrofoil landing stage (direction Colico, get off at Gravedona, time schedule www.navigazionelaghi.it). The dock is just 400 meters from Palazzo Gallio.
- BY BUS:  3 buses per day leave from Malpensa Terminal 1 to Como (bus line SPT, time schedule
http://www.sptcomo.it/vantaggiMal.php). Get off at Piazza Cavour in Como and take an hydrofoil to Gravedona (direction Colico, time schedule www.navigazionelaghi.it) or the bus (direction Menaggio-Colico, line C10, time schedule www.sptlinea.it).

From Milano Linate (LIN):
- BY CAR: take the East ring road (Tangenziale est) in direction of Monza. Take the exit Monza- Lecco and continue on the Lecco-Colico-Sondrio freeway. In Colico follow the road signs for Como- Menaggio as far as Gravedona. The whole journey is about 110 kilometres and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- BY BUS/TRAIN: take a bus to Milan central station (Stazione Centrale), then a train to Colico (direction Lecco-Tirano, time schedule www.trenitalia.it). Get off at Colico and catch a bus to Gravedona (direction Menaggio-Como, line C10, first stop of Gravedona, time schedule www.sptlinea.it). The bus stop is just 50 meters far from Palazzo Gallio.

From Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY):
- BY CAR: follow the road signs for Lecco. Once there take the freeway to Colico-Sondrio and then continue on the road SS340 (direction Como-Menaggio) as far as Gravedona. The whole journey is about 90 kilometres and takes about 1 hour and twenty minutes.
- BY BUS/TRAIN: take the shuttle bus to the Bergamo train station (10 minutes). There you take a train to Lecco and then one to Colico (direction Sondrio-Tirano, time schedule www.trenitalia.it). Just outside the Colico train station you find buses going to Gravedona (direction Menaggio-Como, line C10, time schedule www.sptlinea.it). Get off at the first stop in Gravedona, about 50 meters far from Palazzo Gallio.

 

Driving

From Lugano: follow the road signs for Lugano city centre (Lago), then continue in direction of Menaggio-St. Moritz. Once in Menaggio take the road to Gravedona (direction Sondrio). The whole journey is about 50 kilometres and takes about 1 hour.

From Como: take the road Statale Regina (SS340) in direction of Menaggio, Sondrio and St.Moritz. Continue as far as Gravedona. The whole journey is about 52 kilometres and takes about 1hour.

From Lecco: take the freeway to Colico-Sondrio and then continue on the road SS340 (direction Como-Menaggio) as far as Gravedona. The whole journey is about 50 kilometres and takes about 50 minutes.

From Maloja Pass: follow the road signs for Chiavenna and then for Como and Lugano, as far as Gravedona. The whole journey is about 64 kilometres and takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
